A page matrix is a row-level model of proposed programmatic SEO pages. Each row shows the combination that creates the page, the source data that supports it, the rendered fields and URL it would use, its place in the site hierarchy, and the decision about whether that page should move forward.
Why page matrix matters in programmatic SEO
A matrix makes scale inspectable before a generator turns assumptions into URLs. Keyword research can reveal patterns and a template can describe how one page renders, but neither proves that every combination is valid, supported by data, structurally unique, or useful enough to deserve its own page.
Reviewing the whole matrix exposes problems that disappear when pages are viewed one at a time: impossible combinations, duplicate normalized URLs, missing parent relationships, empty evidence fields, overlapping targets, and rows whose only meaningful difference is an entity name.
A simple example

The matrix can also show that two different source values normalize to the same slug, or that a child page points to a hub that does not exist in the plan. Those are planning problems, not publishing surprises.
