Content rule
Near-duplicate content
Two or more planned pages have substantially similar body text.
Last updated
Trigger
When this rule appears
Verified body-text similarity reaches the configured near-duplicate threshold (default 0.85).
Coverage
What this check can and cannot guarantee
Coverage depends on how the pair is discovered. Identical fingerprints and pages in the same template family are compared exhaustively at the 0.85 threshold. Across different template families, candidate banding guarantees discovery only from about 0.891 similarity upward; pairs between 0.85 and 0.891 may still be found, but are not guaranteed to be compared.
Why it matters
Decide what changes next
Read this finding as evidence about the affected page, not as a verdict on the whole site. A Review finding needs a decision; a Blocked finding should be addressed before the page moves forward. Coverage findings mean the check is incomplete, not that the page passed.
Next action
How to resolve it
Merge redundant pages or rewrite them around genuinely different user needs and evidence.
